In 2014, our founders watched as friends, family members, and colleagues fell victim to increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks. Phishing emails that looked indistinguishable from real ones. Ransomware that encrypted years of precious memories. Identity theft that took months to untangle.
They realized something troubling. The gap between attacker sophistication and defender awareness was growing wider every year. Technology companies kept building better security tools, but the weakest link remained unchanged: human behavior.
Umbel BBIS was born from a conviction that education could bridge this gap. Not dry, technical lectures filled with jargon. But practical, engaging courses that anyone could understand and immediately apply.
Twelve years later, we have trained over 2,400 students and partnered with dozens of organizations across Singapore. Our graduates work at banks, government agencies, and technology companies. More importantly, they protect themselves and their families from digital threats every single day.
